Talley’s Bee Farm
Welcome to Sam’s thriving Apiary business, where the buzz of bees leads to the sweet reward of honey.
Our journey began with a deep passion for nature and a fascination with the industrious lives of bees. Today, we are proud to bring you a glimpse into our world, filled with dedication, expertise, and a commitment to sustainability.
Beginnings
Sam started with a single hive in 1970, carefully researching and understanding the intricacies of beekeeping. As his knowledge grew, so did his apiary. He expanded gradually, ensuring each step was taken with respect for the bees and their natural behaviors. Sam turned his love for beekeeping into an aspiring business by 1978.
The Expansion Process
Expanding the apiary involved meticulous planning and a deep understanding of bee colonies. He focused on acquiring high-quality queens and establishing hives in locations that provide ample forage and minimal human disturbance. Each hive is monitored and managed with care, promoting healthy colonies and robust honey production.
Bee Keeping Practices
Beekeeping practices are rooted in sustainability and the well-being of our bees. Sam employs organic methods, avoiding chemical treatments and
opting for natural solutions to manage pests and diseases. This approach not only protects the bees but also ensures purity of the honey. Regular inspections, seasonal management, and ethical harvesting practices are key components of this operation.
Honey Production
The heart of his apiary business is honey production. The bees diligently collect nectar from a variety of flowers, each contributing to the unique flavor profiles of our honey. Honey is harvested during peak seasons, ensuring minimal disruption to the bees. The extraction process is gentle and careful, preserving the natural qualities of the honey and maintaining its raw, unfiltered state.
Wildflower and Clover variations available.
Not intended for children under the age of 1.
Honey is raw and is filtered just enough to remove any solid objects. To retain the medicinal benefits of honey, never heat above 100 degrees. If honey becomes crystallized during the colder months, simply give it a bath in a sink full of warm (not hot!) water or use as is.
